Description

Delicious deviled eggs are the perfect appetizer for special occasions, parties, and picnics. With a smokey sprinkle of paprika on top, these are sure to be a hit!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 8 large eggs, hard boiled and peeled*
  • 1/3 cup real mayonnaise (I like to use Duke’s)
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/8 tsp ground mustard
  • 1/8 tsp ground thyme
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • A pinch of sea salt
  • Smoked paprika, to sprinkle on top

Instructions

  1. Carefully cut the eggs in half and scoop out the yolks into a medium bowl.
  2. Mash the yolks well with a fork, then add mayonnaise, garlic powder, mustard, thyme, black pepper, and pinch of sea salt. Continue mashing until smooth.
  3. Scoop the egg yolk mixture into the egg halves using a spoon or use a pastry bag to make it even fancier.
  4. Sprinkle each egg with smoked paprika. Enjoy!

Notes

My favorite method of cooking hard boiled eggs is using the Instant Pot. Kristine’s Kitchen has a wonderful recipe to use here.

Make ahead and enjoy these chilled. This makes a perfect make-ahead holiday, cookout, or picnic dish.

I like to buy whole spices and grind them using a Mortar and Pestle to bring out more flavor (affiliate link – see out disclosure here).
