Description

This easy, 5 minute homemade southwestern fajita seasoning will transform all your favorite southwestern and Mexican recipes, adding a ton of flavor and a little spice. Perfect for meats, seafood, soups, beans, rice, and more!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 Tbsp ground cumin
  • 2 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg

Instructions

  1. In a small mason jar or spice jar, combine together all of the above spices and mix well. Seal tightly. This recipe easily doubles.
  2. Store in an airtight container and use to season any meat, seafood, vegetables, soups, casseroles, rice and more!

Notes

Recipe makes about 4 tablespoons. It is salt-free, so add salt as needed.

Use about 1 Tbsp per pound of meat or seafood. Use more for a bolder, spicier flavor.

If you don’t like spicy foods, decrease the cayenne to 1/8 of a teaspoon.

Keep in a dark, dry, cool space in your kitchen.
